Striped Noise

Striped Noise is my latest in a series of experiments wherein representational sounds and traditional models of instrumental composition are combined. Still inspired by the sounds of New York, I went further into the city than in Manhattanism, seeking out the ruptures in the urban fabric where glimpses of its colossal engines reveal themselves. Trash compactors, subway cars, air compressors and earth removers… nothing but unwanted noise most of the time, but what happens when they organize?
